Wonhae Hwang is a Seoul-based painter whose layered compositions reflect the evolving architecture of memory and urban life. Drawing from traditional Korean structures and modern cityscapes, her works explore the tension between permanence and transformation. Through gestural abstraction and repetitive layering, Hwang creates textured spaces that feel both surreal and grounded. She holds an MFA from Hongik University and has exhibited internationally, including recent shows in Seoul and Berlin. Her work is represented in major collections such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, and the Korean Embassy in Berlin.
